Ever fancied having the opportunity to receive exclusive insights from world leading tech companies? Perhaps Paul McCrudden, Twitter’s head of content Europe, could teach you a thing or two, or maybe hearing from Heledd Jones, head of search at Confused.com, would float your boat? Either way, you should definitely bag yourself tickets for this year’s Online Influence (Oi) Conference taking place in Bristol’s Mercure Hotel, as both are among this year’s strong line-up.
“Online Influence Conference brings some the worlds’ biggest tech companies and best digital minds under one roof for a day of learning, inspiration and networking”
Listen, Learn and Network
The Oi Conference offers a fantastic chance for you to be able to learn from and network with world-class businesses that otherwise may be inaccessible to you. Paul Shepherd (pictured right), the organiser of the Oi Conference, tells us, “Online Influence Conference brings some the worlds’ biggest tech companies and best digital minds under one roof for a day of learning, inspiration and networking. We pride ourselves on the delivery of world-class content from world-class speakers.”
“I’ve always loved the pace of digital and tech from a business and consumer perspective and I think it’s now more important than ever to keep abreast of the very latest developments. Who better to tell us about those developments than the giants driving the industry forward, and the practitioners who are at the very top of their game?”
The event follows an engaging agenda, including an array of Boot Camps, Masterclasses, Meet the Experts and Case Study sessions, each focussing on a particular subject. Additionally, the day will incorporate exciting debates such as quick-fire panel sessions to enhance the interactive nature of the event.
Some of the speakers featuring are: Amanda Neylon Head of Digital, Macmillan Cancer, Heledd Jones Head of Search, Confused.com, Paul McCrudden Head of Content, Twitter, Jan Wiechers Head of Brand, YouTube and Micheal Complojer Head of Brand, Google.
“Bristol is easily one of the hottest digital communities”
This star studded line-up will be able to offer you invaluable advice and are only a handful of the knowledgeable speakers and delegates attending the event. As Paul says “We still have a load more to announce, but we want to keep the surprises coming!”
Successes in Cardiff
The Oi Conference took place in Cardiff earlier this spring and was described as “the ‘social’ social media event of the year in Wales” by BBC Wales.

The event was a huge success and #Oi15 managed to trend across the nation on Twitter, only second to #ukelection on election day – very impressive if you ask us!
35 speakers and 500 delegates from world-class brands flocked to Cardiff in May to attend the Oi Conference and Paul says, “We had a 96% positivity rating according to our social scoring platform, and held a fantastic after party to celebrate. It was an amazing day.”

Bringing it to Bristol
Since the Oi Conference in Cardiff was such a hit, it will be returning, but hosted in Bristol on 16 October 2015 at the Mercure Hotel, Redcliffe Hill.
“Bristol is easily one of the hottest digital communities outside of London and we’re proud to bring Oi to such a vibrant city”
Paul is excited for the second Oi Conference, especially since Bristol is such a key city in the tech industry, “Bristol is easily one of the hottest digital communities outside of London and we’re proud to bring Oi to such a vibrant city. I’ve worked in Bristol and have loads of business connections and friends here who confirmed for me that the City would embrace what we’re trying to do here.”
The event is a slightly downsized version of what happened in Cardiff, but don’t let this be a deterrent as it means the day as a whole can be more intimate, and in-depth talks from speakers and question and answer sessions will be more viable, allowing you to get more out of it.
Paul urges those interested to snap up tickets for this special occasion, “Oi Conf is genuinely a place to come, connect, learn and be inspired, and I’d encourage anyone who’s serious about learning from the very best in their industry to take the opportunity to do all those things. It’s rare to bring this quality (and quantity) of speaker and content together.” If you’re speedy you can get your hands on one of the 25 super early bird tickets and save yourself £100! But hurry, these won’t be around for long.
If, remarkably, none of this convinces you to attend, there is also an after party which will undoubtedly be worth it!
We would like to thank Paul for taking the time to speak to us. You can purchase tickets for the event here or get more info on the Online Influence West website. Don’t forget to give them a follow on Twitter @OiConf and tweet them with the hashtag #Oi15.
