The preliminary plans for the most anticipated event in the virtual reality (VR) calendar have been announced – and it’s going to be a good one.
“Everything about VR World Congress in 2017 is bigger and better”
The third VR World Congress (VRWC) is being held over a 3-day period from 11 to 13 April 2017 with up to 2000 people being able to walk through the doors and experience cutting-edge VR and talk to the people making it. This is all being made possible thanks to the global tech leader AMD who are generously sponsoring the event.
VRWC, hosted by the creative geniuses at Opposable VR, will bring together all the best and brilliant VR developers who are willing to share their knowledge and show off their games and VR experiences. And, more importantly, we get to play with it all!
Entering the realm of VR
We caught up with Ryan Davies from Opposable VR who is very excited about the upcoming event: “Everything about VR World Congress in 2017 is bigger and better. Expect more eye-opening exhibitors and speakers with impressive new technologies and bold ideas to share.
“Attendees will be able to see and take part in 360° talks”
“We’re currently curating our line-up from the huge raft of applications we’ve received (although we’re always on the lookout for more speakers, sponsors and exhibitors), but rest assured that next year’s VRWC is going to be another landmark event.” Ryan reports that there will be the chance to meet and learn from the sharpest minds in VR at VRWC 2017 as well as the most important buyers, sellers and consumers.
Excitingly, VRWC 2017 will be taking over the Bristol Planetarium, “where attendees will be able to see and take part in 360° talks”, bringing an appropriate new dynamic to the conference. Ryan adds, “If you’re struggling to figure out what that means – you’ll just have to grab tickets and see first hand!”

The event will take place across a multitude of locations, including Millennium Square, the Watershed and At-Bristol. Ryan says they are extremely happy with the venue selection, “They’re all beautiful and integral parts of Bristol that we’re proud to be partnering with.”
An unmissable occasion
Following from the successes from the 2016 event, Ryan urges people to grab tickets for this year’s VRWC soon. He tells us, “Whether you’re from a different industry looking to discover how VR can fit into your sector, or already in the market for VR and looking to improve your understanding and develop ideas, VRWC is the ultimate destination.”

VRWC 2016 highlighted the sheer demand for such a conference, “there’s a huge amount of interest in virtual reality within Bristol, the UK and Europe. Tickets sold out long before the event and we packed the house with 750 eager and diverse attendees.”
