Pitch@Palace has been designed by Prince Andrew to help promote up-and-coming companies by inviting them to show off their innovative ideas to a business audience including A-list investors, business leaders, celebrities, CEOs and mentors at St James Palace.
After getting through an elimination round at the Engine Shed in Bristol which was attended by the Prince, and the follow-up Boot Camp in London, three South West-based tech startups will be with an all-star business audience at St James’s Palace on Monday 2 November.
“Bristol and the South West is a very innovative region… we have been able to work with some truly cutting-edge internet-of-things and smart cities companies”
Pitch @ Palace this year has a particular focus on entrepreneurs developing products and services for use in the Internet of Things and Smart Cities fields and Wriggle, YellowDog – both from Bristol & Bath SETsquared Centres – and Altitude Tech – from the Bristol Robotics Laboratory at UWE – clearly fitted the bill to fly the flag for the West of England at the event.

At the showcase event Prince Andrew commented: “Bristol and the South West is a very innovative region. Through our relationship with SETsquared, which has been developed over a number of years, we have been able to work with some truly cutting-edge internet-of-things and smart cities companies at the South West Pitch on Tour event.
“That’s what the Pitch@Palace initiative is all about, bridging the chasm between start-up ventures and decision makers to help them move forward.”

You can get involved too, by voting for your favourite in the Pitch@Palace’s People’s Choice awards. A quick description of what the startups do can be seen below, but there are videos explaining their idea in more detail at the People’s Choice award page:
YellowDog crowdsources computer power to make rendering faster, better and easier for 3D animators, and helps computer owners donate to charity.
