The line-up has been revealed for the Bristech Conference 2015 – a one day conference for developers of all persuasions offering an amazing array of tech talks from 18 South West technologists who will be sharing the latest thinking across languages, tools and platforms.

Nicholas-Hemley-bristechAs Nic Hemley (pictured right), the organiser of both the Bristech meetup group and the conference, tells us: “The line-up is looking really great! We have a diverse bunch of speakers including developers, founders, freelancers, tech evangelists, CTOs and thought leaders in their respective fields.

“This diversity means that we are covering a vast swathe of the technical landscape, from build tools to microservices, as well as UX and data science. We hope there will be plenty of interest to both professional developers and those just starting out in their careers.”

“I am pretty amazed that in 20 months we have gone from a five person meet-up event hosted in a basement to a 200+ person conference”

Bristech logoSo what’s the most exciting thing about the conference for Nic? “I am pretty amazed that in 20 months we have gone from a five person meet-up event hosted in a basement to a 200+ person conference with multiple tracks: who knows what we could be doing next year!

“The support from the community has been overwhelming and without the speakers we wouldn’t have an event, so I am really indebted to them as well as all the people who are volunteering their time behind the scenes to make it happen.”

That support includes a lot of local companies who are sponsoring the event, including bespoke software development company Scott Logic, software company ClusterHQ, movie database company IMDb, multi-channel retail company BrightPearl, personal music service MixRadio and bespoke software solutions company Softwire.

Nic tells us the reason why Bristech decided to hold the conference is to allow the attendees to discover new interesting areas of tech: “At the end of the day, I hope that each and every delegate will have had their curiosity piqued through a personal journey of six interesting and thought-provoking talks. Essentially, we are presenting a good opportunity for exposure to many topics in a short space of time, so potentially a catalyst for new interests. In addition, people may be inspired to give their own talk at a future event or meet-up.

We’d like to thank Nic for talking to us. You can see the Bristech Conference 2015 speakers, full programme and buy tickets at the Bristech 2015 Conference, and keep up will all things Bristech by following them on Twitter: @bristechmeetup.
